This year we offered a road run starting in the Town
Square at Abgindon and the chance to have a look around the new museum
dedicated to MG. The weather was a little wild and the entrants had to
negotiate a few fallen branches and muddy puddles before getting to the
Dog House in Frilford. Once there though they had a
warm welcome as nearly a hundred people gathered for the annual Xmas
Awards and lunch. As usual there were things to launch again this year
and these were the 2008 calendar with member submitted photos and the
DVD for MGFest07. Tim compered and also was the fiend who devised this
year's Xmas Quiz which left some wondering just who or what are Black
Box Recorder amongst other imponderables. Worthy winners of the
fantastic MGF cake were the South Mids Sportsters table led by Richard
Stone.
With groups from the North East, Wales, South Coast,
Heart of England , Midlands and the South East the regions were well
represented and we welcomed some from the continent who had made the
effort to join us as well. Andy Phillips taught us how
to make balloon animals and to juggle as a prelude to the annual awards
ceremony. The raffle this year included a final contribution to our
charity for 2007 - Parkinsons Disease Society. Adrian
introduced the prize winners and his glamorous assistant, Paula, handed
out the trophies to the worthy winners. So just who
were the winners for 2007 ....... Member of the
Year (Tanswell Trophy) Sean Rankin - for
his dedication in attending numerous main events as well as regional
ones around the UK in addition to running his own region in East Anglia.
Significant Contribution Award (Priests Trophy)

MGF Register Special Awards

the Netherlands Phil & Lorna Brindley - for
