For Sale - MGB 1974
1974 MGB. Ground up rebuild completed in 2004. Vehicle was built for driving, not for show or concourse, influenced 100% by 'Brit-Tek' catalogue. Approx 2,000 miles since rebuild completed. Bare metal restor, all BMH sections: Floor pans, door skins, all well arches, trunk, inner-outer sills,fenders, hood, bonnet,front apron, etc. Leather interior, and carpet set from MGOC. Moto Lita wheel. All panels, supports,mounts, ducts, brackets, braces, splash panels, spring hangers, etc that had rust, looked like rust, or smelled like rust were replaced. Complete screw to nut, piece to peice New Rebuild: steering column, steering rack, front and rear suspension, front and rear brakes, clutch system, ER brake, etc. New dash, all gages, wiring loom, lights, all engine bay and engine ancillaries, Ansa exhaust system,Cannon header. Engine rebuilt:Professionally rebuilt by engine team using a Brit-Tek kit...new pistons, rings, pins, oil pump, cam and lifters, mains, rods and c
am bearing set, thrust washer and lock tab set, valve spring set, timing chain and tensioner, rocker shaft and rocker bushing set, all gaskets, seals, rear main, filter head, special positive valve seals, oil pressure, relief valve, uprated springs, head update with stellite exhaust valves, intake valve set, silicon bronze guides, hardened valve seat, valve spring set, head gasket set, etc. polished, balanced, 0.002 bore, 270 degree cam,boosts the hp to 115-120 range new clutch, all hydraulics, etc. Only the tranny and overdrive were not rebuilt, they were deemed good shape. Volt meter placed in radio console support.British racing green. All chrome is new. Actually every part except the tranny, overdrive, refinished seat frames, and 1/2 of the body is new. Cloth soft top and tonneau, new soft top frame. Sound deadening and vibration and heat resistant materials were placed through out the body. Spax shocks front and rear. Weber downdraft carb, K&N air filter. 3/4 fron
t sway bar. Kelly Metric 185/70/14 tires. Minator wheels. Body was stripped of every item not part of the unibody. Rust was liberally excised, and new pieces welded in by Brit car restoration shop. A liquid anti vibe and sound deadening material was sprayed on floor pans. An asphalt pre-cut sound deadening kit was applied. Mallory distributor, electronic ignition, Japanese high torque starter, drilled front rotors, slotted rear drums, Aluminum Rocker cover, oil cooler with steel braided lines, Brake lines as well.

Its a nice driver. Faults: small tear in the drivers back seat needs to be repaired, various paint imperfections, bonnet lid to fender space fitment is a little wider than stock. Parts bought from Brit-Tek, Roadster Factory, Victoria, Moss, MG Owners Club. $18,750.00.

If a show car is desired, this is a good candidate for a cosmetic make over, otherwise it is fine driver as is. This car was purchased from an eBay seller who lied about the car - I wanted a re-builder, not a parts car, this is strictly a parts car.T he engine, trans, rear diff appears to be completely stock and intact, bodywork has cancer, dents etc. Interior is trashed. I need to get rid of the car, willing to take a hit on what I originally paid - but wanting to get as much for the car as possible to recover my losses. If someone is a bodywork person this probably isn't such a bad deal - I'm not a bodywork person but a mechanic. I have very good pics if you are interested. I'm asking $900.00 for the car.
