October 2003 David
Pelham has sent in a revision to his YT list which
can either be downloaded here or from the side panel to this page. David
writes: This
latest version contains an update on page four. The total number of YT survivors
is confirmed as 138 cars, almost 50% more than the 93 known survivors when the
list was first published on the website almost a year ago. If we take into
account the both the definite (138) and probable (39)s survivors this accounts
for 20% of YT production. Thank you to all who have contributed and please
continue the good work' David Pelham 20 October 2003.

October 2003 Please
note that the Sales and Regalia fax machine is currently out of order. If
you wish to place an order you can still contact David by either telephone -
having especial regard to the time in the UK please - or by email
here. If you wish to
pay by credit card, please split your email into two emails and only give half
your card number in each. Please also remember to specify which half is
the first and which is the second, and also include your delivery address, card
holder name and address if different, and the expiry date of your card. We
hope to resume normal service as soon as possible so please bear with us.
Thank you.

October 2003 We are
always delighted to come across Y Types previously unknown to us, and so tonight
we are absolutely delighted to welcome Roy Clapham and
Y
5986 to
Ys on Parade and car number 193, only 7 to go to
200 too! Another fun fact about Roy's car - it is exactly 10 years older
than your webmaster!

October 2003 Ian
Theobald has sent in a new picture of his lovely YT 3471 to
Ys on Parade following a magnificent respray.
He actually, very kindly, sent a pile of pictures and the result can only be
described as fantastic! Well done Ian and thanks.

October 2003 Today,
please welcome J M Nicholson
(sorry I don't have a first name for you)
and Y 7207 to
Ys on Parade. Mr(?) Nicholson is the new
owner of David Hilliam's car. We wish you much happiness both driving your
Y Type and surfing these pages, and look forward to continuing to support you.
This months Reprinted Article
come from 1952 and is from an unknown source on Y Type suspension. The
article was sent in by Willem van der Veer - many thanks again Willem for this
very interesting article. If anyone can advise the source (and verify it),
please can you contact the webmaster so that we can credit the source and ask
copyright permission formally? Thanks and enjo'Y'.

October 2003 Today,
please welcome
Herman Reijnders
and Y 3448 to to
Ys on Parade. Herman is our 192nd Y on
Parade, we are heading nicely for the 200th car soon so please keep your cars
coming in as we are always pleased to see new entries. Herman's car is
another example of a Y Type previously unknown to the Register so is a doubly
important feature to us. Thank you Herman!

October 2003 Willem
van der Veer has sent in several pieces recently, an article from 1947 on Y Type
suspension (which will feature later as this month's reprint), a
collectible in the form of a maintenance and data
manual, and two contemporary advertisements one for a
Shorrocks supercharger, and the other from a Belgian magazine.

October 2003 Please be
advised that there is another hoax email doing the rounds. This time
purporting to be from eBay requesting verification of information or your bids
will be jeopardised. Despite the eBay logo, and seeming hyperlinks to
cgi.ebay sites THIS IS STILL a hoax. The links will take you again to a
site sporting the ebay logos, however, this is not an eBay site. Best
action - delete the email and ignore it.
Meanwhile, on a happier footing, Chanaka Jinasena continues
to forge ahead with the restoration of Y 0900 and has sent in a photograph of
the car following the respray. It's final colour is an Old English White,
an what a contrast from where it was - see the report in
Interesting Ys.

October 2003 Please
welcome John Rowe and YB 1146 to
Ys on Parade,
spotted by
David Pelham at 'Totally MG' at
last weekend. One of the best restored cars
that I have seen. We are now linking the chassis
numbers in these news announcements directly to the appropriate section of the
Parade, but still leaving the link to the summary pages in place so you can
check up on the current Country and Model statuses of representation.
Please do not hesitate from sending in your entries to Ys on Parade by clicking
on the modem picture at the top of any of the Ys on Parade page.

October 2003 Another
month has sped by! Already Jerry Birkbeck has turned his thoughts to the
2004 Spring run, and with that in mind this month's (and next's)
Picture of the Month hark back to the 2003
Spring Run!
Our congratulations go out to Mrs Nancy Stovall (nee,
Anderson), owner of YT 3338 who, we are reliably informed, was recently married
- well done and congratulations to you both from all Y owners worldwide I am
sure. Did YT 3338 get involved anywhere? I am sure we'd all love to see
another wedding photograph with a Y as Picture of the month!
Also new this month, we have completed the new menu coding
exercise - or at least Rik Moncur, of the
www.internetdesignshop.co.uk,
has! If you now float down the menu frame and hover over either Ys on
Parade or the Reprints button you will see the new pop-up sub-menus. We
are immensely grateful to Rik for his expertise and help in this matter, Rik
also wrote the magnificent animated gif file of the moving MG Y Type for us that
adorns the Events, Hints and Tips, and Artist's Impressions pages.
