Terry O'Brien from Canada has kindly sent me copies of his original Lucas wiring diagrams for YT/EXU cars using both the RF.91 and RF.95 Control Boxes. These can now be downloaded from our Technical Data page.

Two dates for your diary have also been published on the Events page - the AGM and the 2005 Spring Run. Mark up your diary now!

Also, now available through the Regalia page - a set of four rubber Bonnet Buffers for the sides of the firewall. These are handed and come in complete sets and have been completely unavailable for many years. Our new Secretary has made a mould and we are now able to offer Left and Right handed buffers to finish off that restoration job! The Sales List has also been updated.

Ted Gardner has stepped up to the plate, and become the new Secretary to the MG Car Club Y Type Register Committee. We welcome Ted, and which him every success in his new role. Ted can be contacted on here. Ted has a wicked sense of humour - as witnessed by the photograph he recently sent me for the site Contact Us page when he joined the team earlier this month. This has now been updated, to a more contemporary one!

Remo Peter wrote to me recently to tell me of some finds he had made. Extracts of this I have appended below:
"At an autojumble this summer I came across a special issue of "Science et Vie", a French magazine still published these days , probably issued for the 1947 Paris motor show. Inside there are articles not only about new models, but also on the latest developments in car and motorcycle technology. Very interesting reading indeed. And the Y-type is featured, too! I had never seen the picture before, looks like a photograph so heavily retouched as to resemble a drawing. The text accompanying the picture is 'M.G. – CONDUITE INTERIEURE 4 PLACES, 4 PORTES, 6 GLACES, 4 CYLINDRES, 1,25 LITRE' or 'M.G. – Saloon, 4 seats, 4 doors, 6 lights, 4 cylinders, 1.25 litres'. The expression “conduite intérieure” actually means having no partition between driver and rear passengers. Some pages later there is more information on the then new MGs: ' M.G., après la remise en état de l’usine d’Abingdon, a repris, dès 1946, la fabrication du modèle « Midget », bien connu, dit « TC » 1250 cm2. En 1947, la firme vient de présenter, en plus de cette petite voiture sport 2 places, la nouvelle 1.25 litre qui, munie d’un moteur identique, est une voiture économique à 4 places et à performance élevée.' Broadly translated is 'M.G., after refurbishing their Abingdon factory, in 1946 have again taken up production of the “Midget” model, well known as “TC” 1250 cc. In 1947 the company has just presented, in addition to this little sporty 2-seater, the new 1.25 litre, which, fitted with an identical engine, is an economical car offering 4 seats and high performance.'

The picture is typically of its time, as Remo says, heavily accented, but it is an interesting contemporary piece dating from 1947. Thank you Remo for your contribution.

Please welcome Bill Moses and YT 1923 to Ys on Parade. Bill's car is the oldest YT on the Parade too, and is the earliest known surviving YT. Although he clearly has his work cut out, Bill is very enthusiastic - GO BILL, GO! Contrary to all expectations, we have 251 Ys on Parade! 251, as you will know is the original telephone number of the MG Car Company Assembly plant at Abingdon, and was also the first chassis number of both the Y and YB. This is surely the most amazing collection of Ys in the world and represents over 3% of the original production. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, and to those of you who still are waiting - please send them in to us: the site visitors, at over 48 a day since we started, clearly show that we cannot get enough!

Today, please welcome James Carstairs with Y 4988 to Ys on Parade. James is entry number 250 on our gallery which means that we now have 3.00% of all the original production of Ys on the site! This is an amazing achievement and 5 times our original expectation for these pages! With 121YAs on the page we may have to consider further subdividing by year of production to keep download speeds up! This is very exciting and wonderful that so many of you are sharing your Ys with others - maximum enjoyment. If you have not already done so, please send in your entries by clicking on the little modem on any of the Ys on Parade pages, completing the form, attaching a picture and clicking SEND.

Please welcome two new members to the MG Car Club Y Type Register Committee - Ted Gardner, and Paul Gresser. I have updated the Contact Us page with a picture from Ted, and Paul, I am sure, will be sending us one in. Currently they are both without portfolio, but we'll find something special for them to do!

Please also welcome Mark Weissman as the new owner of YT 3285 to Ys on Parade. The car has moved from Vancouver, BC Canada to Connecticut USA.

Henry and Sue Matejka have sent in a report on their trip on Motor Ioway 2004, and despite the problems are still keen to have another crack next year. Those of you who looked at Philip's report yesterday will do well to have another look as his friends sent him some lovely photographs of his car in the Langdales!

Karl Heinz Borches (YT 2778) had kindly lent Manfred's daughter, Andrea, his YT for her wedding car and this month's Picture of the Month shows her, and her husband in the YT. Interesting to note, Andrea is in the driver's seat! Maybe they too will get a Y Type? Karl also kindly sent in a picture of them, and his YT for the Ys at Weddings page too.

Also, to begin November, Philip Waltham has sent in a report on his trip from Norfolk to the English Lake District and back from earlier in the year. Thank you Philip, and if any one has a similar story, please send it in - pictures of the car are welcome too if you have any from the trip!
