29 May 2007 Graham Loader has sent in a report from the MG Car Club South Australia' 60th Anniversary run for the Y and these have been added to the special page of photographs. 28 May 2007 Alf Luckman decided that there were too few photographs of the Maitland Sixtieth Anniversary event so these have been added to the special page of photographs. 26 May 2007 Necessity being the mother of invention, according to the old saying, a couple of new parts have been added to the Parts Drawings page. As before, if you have had to dimensionally draw up a part to either make yourself, or to have fabricated, please send it in so that others may benefit from your knowledge and we will add it to this page. This page can also be accessed from the Technical Centre option from the Parts Drawings option on the sub menu of the main contents panel. 23 May 2007 Please welcome Michael Lutz with YT 2913 to Ys on Parade! Robert Baker has completed his restoration of Y 1090 and has sent in an updated photograph for Ys on Parade. Additionally Robert has also sent a picture of Y 1090 doing the honours at his son's wedding in April 2007. Also, two video clips have been added to the Sixtieth Anniversary special page of photographs celebrations from the UK run. Additionally some more parts drawings and pictures have been consolidated on the Parts Drawings page. 22 May 2007 As many of you will
know who receive Safety Fast on a regular basis, the MG Car Club Y
Type Register has a regular feature article. Now the entire back catalogue
of these has been scanned and can be downloaded individually from the
Downloadables section at the side margin of this news page at any time. It
has been interesting going back over the back issues and looking at the topics
raised. We hope you will find this page useful and interesting too.
See the 21 May 2007 Today, please welcome Paul Gunner with Y 3955 to Ys on Parade. Paul's car is the 360th car on the website - that is SIX time SIXTY in our SIXTIETH anniversary Year! Well Done Paul! 20 May 2007 Today, please welcome Mark May with YB 0850 to Ys on Parade. An event report has also been filed by Andrew Adamson for the UK Spring Run and been added to the Sixtieth Anniversary special page of photographs and some further photographs by Andrew have been added too. 19 May 2007 More photographs have been added to the Sixtieth Anniversary special page of photographs celebrations from the UK run. Watch this space for more photographs and hopefully an event report be added in the fullness of time too! - when the paper dries out maybe? 18 May 2007 Tow other book that has previously been missed in the Book Review page are the book Tuning and Maintenance of MGs by Philip Smith, and W.E. Blower's The MG Workshop Manual Complete Tuning and Maintenance for all Models from "M" Type to "T.F.1500". These have now been added. 17 May 2007 Roy Clapman (Y 5986) has sent in some photographs from the UK Spring Run which have been added to the Sixtieth Anniversary special page of photographs. Roy won the NTG Cup for the YA most folk would like to take home having just completed the restoration of his car (ESV 518). 16 May 2007 More photographs have been added to the Sixtieth Anniversary special page of photographs celebrations from the Pacific North West and the UK runs. No doubt more photographs and comments will be added in due course. 15 May 2007 Please welcome Henry & Marlies Hebels who are the new owners of Y 7142 to Ys on Parade. They have a workshop in Eindhoven dedicated to the servicing of British Sportscars: MGs, Triumphs, Jensons etc. Details of their garage facilities can be viewed at www.britishsportscars.nl. Photographs are beginning to come in from the UK weekend and have been added to the special page of photographs from this special Diamond year. I am sure that additional photographs and comments will be added in due course. The mid-month Reprinted Article is from January 1948 publication of Australian Motor Manual and is titled "M.G. presents a new 1 1/4 litre saloon ... a review of a quality small car". It is the 100th article to be released - plenty more to come for your enjoyment, do not worry! We are also pleased to announce the release of stills from the films 'Evelyn' and 'Dance with a Stranger' by kind permission of MGM Clip+Still. These have been added to the Ys on film ... and other media page. 14 May 2007 A report of the Sixtieth Anniversary celebrations from the Pacific North West has been added to the special page of photographs from this special Diamond year. No doubt more photographs and comments will be added in due course. 10 May 2007 One book that got overlooked in the Book Review page previously was the book MG 1945 - 1964 Photo Archive by David Knowles. This has now been remedied. 5 May 2007 Today, please welcome Tom Peitsch and Y 2371 to Ys on Parade. Tom's car is the 60th YA in Australia on the Parade - particularly poignant in this Diamond jubilee year!. If you are into significant numbers (or merely coincidental ones), another two cars on the Parade will take us to 6 times 60 cars at 360 cars. 3 May 2007 Although many parts are available as 'New Old Stock' (NOS), second-hand, or remanufactured for TCs and TDs, some parts are totally unavailable and will have to be made up either by yourself, of a fabricater. To help eliminate some of the guess work involved in this process, we hope to bring you measured drawings and templates where previous restorers have had items made on a new Parts Drawings page. If you have had to dimensionally draw up a part to either make yourself, or to have fabricated, please send it in so that others may benefit from your knowledge and we will add it to this page. This page can also be accessed from the Technical Centre option from the Parts Drawings option on the sub menu of the main contents panel. 1 May 2007 A new Collectible has been sent in by Karel and Caroline Vermeer - a post card showing an MG Y! The monthly picture this month is of Peter Arnell's YB leading a convoy to Le Mans. The Reprinted Article comes from Classic Car Mart, September 2003 and is entitled "Thinking of buying ... MG YA or YB Saloons?". This article has also been added to the Buyer's Guide page. As the UK Spring Run draws near the Picture of the Month harks back to the Spring Run of 2002.
