March 2004 Well
yesterday was the AGM, and for logistical reasons I was unable to attend
(something to do with 5,000 miles or thereabouts), and no one has emailed me
to say I have not been voted back on as the Webmaster, so until then ...!
Anyway, here is the mid-month update. This month's
Reprinted Article slips back in time again
to 1948 and has a somewhat purely coincidental, if not ironic twist to it, in
that it is on "Specialized M.G. for the US" - no fix, it just fell that way as I
only got the article in February 2004! Still, enjoY!

March 2004 Today,
please welcome Mark Sellick and YB 1423 to
Ys on Parade. We currently have 219 cars from
all over the world - who would have thought that when we have been going not
even for two years!! It is always very rewarding to see new cars coming
forward all the time, so thank you Mark, and enjoY Your Y!

March 2004 As
I alluded to earlier, I had some super gifts from my colleagues when I left the
UK to come to the US. One was a lovely poem framed with Jack Murray's
artwork. The poem, the artwork, and above all the sentiment were lovely
and I would like to share this with you. If you are interested,

4 March 2004 In
all the stuff we had for the 1st of the month I forgot to upload the new
Picture of the Month - very sorry, let's blame
jet lag!! Better service maybe next month - we hope!
Also, a warm welcome please for Jim Maffett and
Y 1167 to Ys on Parade.

1 March 2004 Welcome
to March! I know that there has been a long break since the last update on
19th February, but by the time you read this, I will have relocated to
Washington, USA. Your committee were extremely kind and generous in
providing some wonderful gifts for my wife and me, which we will cherish and
enjoy for many years.
With the first new entries for March, please welcome Dave
Beesley with Y 3443 and Neil Birch with
Y 4155 to Ys on Parade.
New for March we have YB hub
pullers for sale through the Regalia page and
Sales List. We also have a new
Wedding photograph of David Hague's car
The UK Events calendar is also
filling up with two events for the North of the country this year. An
update on details for the 2nd Black Pudding Run (co-ordinator Malcolm Hardy) and
also the Ys for Yorkshire Weekend (co-ordinator Andrew Coulson). This
calendar is open to all other countries and is not restricted to the UK,
however, it is not a general calendar for "all" MG Events. If you are
organising something and want to encourage Y owners particularly, send an email
to the webmaster.
In order to fill up any spare time I might have had, I have
bought David Pelham's YT 4267, which will require a
total rebuild. During this car's life it will have crossed the Atlantic 3
times as it is one of the 114 originally exported to America, before David
bought it back to the UK, now its on its way back again! I have also
updated the entries for Y 4099 and
Y 5270, and
Ys on Parade country analysis.
