18 July 2004 Also, we have an encouraging report from the North of England, by Andrew Coulson, on the 10th Ripon Old Car Show where they had an amazing 6 Ys on show, all models being represented. Lets hope Malcolm Hardy has a similarly good turn out today for his 2nd Black Pudding Run across the border in Lancashire. Then it is back to Yorkshire in August as Andrew is also organising a long weekend for Ys. The last event of the year (listed so far) is a SteamY DaY for Ys at the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway being organised by a recovering Neil Cairns. We look forward to bringing you more reports and photographs on these events as they unfold. For more details, go to the Events page.

11 July 2004 I have been exchanging information with Christian Le Cour and can confirm that YT 3421 is an EXR/K (Right hand drive with kilometre speedometer) car. This means that we now have three known surviving EXR/K cars on the site, YT 3421, YT 4162 and YT 4619. In addition there are another three cars that were known to be EXR/K but whether they have survived, who knows. If you have one, we'd love to hear from you. The other interesting thing is that YT 3421 is an earlier start to the batch of cars in the range YT3423 - YT 3441. Therefore there is no doubt that YT 3422 is a YT as well. This means that there were now 884 YTs and not 877 as previously generally thought. We have also been able to gather more information about the white Y Type featured in this month's Picture of the Month and so have updated the text on that page too.

4 July 2004 For YTs we are delighted to welcome Christian Le Cour with YT 3421 to Ys on Parade. For us this is four time the excitement of normal: not only are we welcoming another Y owner, special enough of itself, but we are adding yet another country, another new car not previously known to the Register, and discovering a YT as well. To Christian we say, "Beinvenue et bon chance". For YBs, keeping page with YTs, we are delighted to welcome Raymond Vigeant with his immaculate YB 1464 to Ys on Parade. And for YAs, Frank Russell has also sent in an updated photo of Y 1336 to Ys on Parade with an update of progress. Also new, in the side bar, is a transcript of Jack Murray's Registrar's report from this year's AGM. It is striking to note how much we have grown, in knowledge, numbers and fellowship since the website started up in April 2002, and the numbers quoted by Jack also amply demonstrate the debt we all owe to our founding fathers Dennis Doubtfire and Colin Rae, and also to John Lawson who alone carried the Y torch for many years. The New York Show of 1950 contained a stand from Nuffield Exports, including the MG Y. Strangely though no YT, the decision to effectively cease production having already been taken no doubt. An extract from the Nuffield Exports brochure from the show has been added to the Brochures page.
1 July 2004 Andrew Coulson has also written to advise me that concerning the Ripon Old Car Show "So far we have 9 confirmed Y types for the Register Stand at Ripon on 11th July ( and that is with Andrew & Arlene only brining one of their two!). The Ripon Old Car Committee want a maximum of 10 cars per stand ..... or else something happens ... we're not sure what as we have never had more than 10! If we can get another 1, or 2, or 3 or ? we can go where no Y has been before! As an incentive, if we get the number over 10 Andrew offers to post on the register 'collectibles' page a copy of the speeding ticket he picked up (camera, Northampton) in his YT - the oldest on the UK roads!! Otherwise itremians locked up -- as some say he should be." So please turn up if you are entered, and please someone add another Y to the ranks. Personally I think he should also ask the police for a copy of the photo to be Picture of the Month too! We also have another new Picture of the Month for you to enjoy. Do send in your pictures, together with a short paragraph about who, where, when and what the picture is about please. A new supplier has also been added to the Links Page courtesy of Michael Nicholson who has discovered a sensibly priced source for Lucas FT57 lamps for your Y at Gregorys Autoparts. Thank you Michael.
