January 2004 Please
welcome
Elliott Sopkin and
YT 4161 to Ys
on Parade.
Elliott's YT is interestingly only the third EXL (Export Left
Hand Drive) YT on the website to date. It also meets up with its
sister car YT 4162 belonging to Eddie Jenner (which is currently located in
Hampshire UK) to make yet another pairing.

January 2004 David Mullen
has sent in a photograph of his "spare" chassis for
YB
0651 for Ys on Parade. Although the
chassis may well be scrapped soon (unless you come forward and take it from
David - it is free to collection, see the current thread on the
Bulletin Board), it is, nonetheless still a Y - and we want a photograph of
them all!

January 2004 Please
welcome Joel Cristea and YT 3110 to
Ys on Parade. YT 3110 now makes
another "pair" with its sister car YT 3111. Joel's car is also another new
car to the Register too!

January 2004 We have
another new wedding photograph for you today on Ys at
Weddings, this time featuring 4 Ys at the same wedding! Another first
is that, besides showing three Ys that are not yet on the Parade (although we
hope they will presently be!) is that the picture shows a YB in Australia!
Is this the only one? If you have a YB in Australia we'd love to hear from
you.
John Edwards has also discovered that the MG YT features on a
video which we have added to the Book Review
(because we do not have a video page - yet) and also on the
Collectibles too.

January 2004 Two new
exciting products are launched on our Regalia page and
Book Review page today and are available for
shipment. A revised Sales List is also available for you to download and
order from.
The first is a long
awaited revamp of the Jackall Service Manual. Originally this had been
available only as a photocopy, but we have now (courtesy of Jack Murray)
completely re-mastered the original and are able to offer a high quality
reproduction complete down to the correct colour leather grained card cover.
This is a "must have" if you are interested in the functioning of, or wanting to
attempt an overhaul of your Jackall system.
The second is the release of the booklet The first 500 miles
on your NEW MG 1¼ litre (Series "Y"). A faithful, high quality, full
colour digital reproduction complete with all fold out pages from the original
and again the correct colour leather grained card cover. This booklet was
given to all owners of a new MG Y and contained vital information on how to look
after your new car. This booklet will also complement your MG Y whether
you decide to keep it in the glove compartment or on the shelf at home.

January 2004 A while
ago, Aldemir Humberto from Brazil
wrote to us with details of his MG Y Hot Rod car, we have now had his
contribution translated from Portuguese-Brazilian into
English, and bring you a new page on Interesting Ys.
Futhermore, back in August 2003, Ken Jones sent in a picture of a Y Type taken
in Exford village green during the late 1940s and posed the question of what
happened to that car - we now can bring you an update on that car on the same
page as we bring you two MG Y Type hot rods! (Warning: these pages may
not be suitable for tender purists!)

January 2004 Time to
pack away the Christmas decorations now for another year, so seeing as I was
updating the website front page, I thought I'd post a new link to the
Links page to motorbase.com's website where they have 9
pictures of Ys and YTs - some "borrowed" from our website, and some not - so
who's Ys are they - mine is the Red over Black YA (now resprayed!). If you
know, perhaps you can let us know in case there are some more Ys out there to
get onto the Parade! Hope you all had a good festive season and have a
prosperous New Year.

January 2004 David
Ardill from Australia has sent in an updated photograph of
YT 4265 for Ys on Parade
as the car nears completion of its restoration. Stunning and well done
David, thank you!

January 2004 Apologies
if the link to the 2004 Calendar was not working earlier - I forgot to upload
it! This is now fixed so please try again, thank you.
Application
forms for the Spring Run 2004 are now available either from the
Events page or by
clicking here. Please return your completed forms, together with your
cheque made payable to the MG Car Club Y Type Register to Jerry as soon as
possible and let us try and get 50 cars on this run this year! It promises
to be a good one!

January 2004 Hope
you enjoyed the festive season and that the New Year is everything you want it
to be. A new calendar for 2004 is available from the Other Items menu on
the left.
We kick off the new year with a new
Hint from Neil Cairns on fitting new sills to your Y Type. These can
be obtained from various suppliers who can be found on our links page.
Richard Prior has also sent in another episode of their
fantastic journey from 2003 the Antipodean
Adventure.
A new Collectible has been
added too - a catalogue from the First International Automobile Show, New York
in 1949.
This
month's Picture of the Month is of new owner
Tim Tavani and his Y Type, both of whom I had the pleasure of meeting when
recently in Arizona USA. Tim rescued the car from a yard downtown.
Had he not, the car would have been winched on to the roof of the garage as an
advertisement as the garage is very close to the Phoenix airport freeway.
