New on the
Collectibles
page is the latest submission - this time the SU Carburettor data sheet for the
Series "Y". Also, 1947 wall lubrication chart for the Series Y
published by C C Wakefield & Co Limited and a YB Parts List.

The
Collectibles page has been updated for a data sheet on SU Carburettors for the
Y/T and two lots of Y postcards which had been forgotten until after the last
update.
15 January 2003
In a recent trawl of the
worldwide wed I came across the Okanagan British
Car Club website and their in-house magazine The Exhaust. Their August
2001 edition featured a front page report on the MG YT. They have kindly
agreed to let us reproduce the relevant page on our
website for your enjoyment.
14 January 2003 John Arkley has also sent in a new picture of his YB 1018 which is now nearing completion. The photograph in Ys on Parade has also been updated. YT 5037 has returned home to the UK, having been formerly owned in Tasmania: please welcome Andrew Morland, the proud new owner. He has very kindly supplied a new photograph and updated his vehicle's entry for us.
There
is a new Technical Query, this time of particular
interest to anyone taking their Y abroad, or on a long distance journey and what
sort of spares to carry. The enquiry originated in the UK and is slanted
towards travel in Europe, however some interesting principles are established
and will stand any Y owner in good stead. You will always find that the
bit you didn't take is the bit you need though!

There
are also three new pictures on the Artists Impressions
page for you to enjoy. Please send you, or your children's drawings and
paintings in to share with us too.
7 January 2003 David has also pointed out that 2003 will mark the 50th anniversary of the last Y Type (a YB) rolling off the production line. We are inviting you to help us decide how we should mark this occasion. Please send your suggestions to us. We will select some of the best suggestions and try to make them happen. Meanwhile, if you are organising a local event to mark this, please elt us know that too and we will publish it on the Events page. It is always good to have events from around the world.
Also we
have a few new owners and their cars to welcome to Ys on Parade. Please welcome
Janet and Rob Roberson with Y 0960, Ben Cardwell with
Y 3270, and Frank Neumann with his
brace of Ys, Y 1314 and
Y 5660. Frank also adds a new international aspect to
the Parade as his are the first cars to enter from
Finally, we have a new technical query, this time on YB Dynamos, on the
Technical page.
1 January 2003 Firstly, let us kick off the New Year in style with a message from Jerry Birkbeck for all those wanting to attend the Spring Run this year at Snowshill Manor. A downloadable Entry Form is now available. Please note that to avoid last minute confusion and running about (so that the organisers can enjoy the day as well as you) Jerry has said that full details / rally boards / route-books etc. will be sent out to entrants after 31 March 2003. This means that he must have completed all his side of the work as well as processed your entry form before then! Please don't leave it to the last minute - do it now, before you forget or get double booked for the day. Andrew and Arlene Coulson have confirmed 13 July 2003 as being the date for the Ripon Old Car Show. As usual, if people wish to emigrate from the more southerly counties (or further afield) for a weekend away, we can offer food, camping. If you fancy an evening run and dinner at the highest pub in England you will be assured of fantastic views, good beers and lovely food. Contact details can be found on the Events Page. Please welcome Barry Grey with two YTs from Queensland Australia - YT 4024 and YT 4167, and Rocky von Dullen, Louisiana USA, with YB 0952 to Ys on Parade. Barry proves with YT 4024 that we are not bothered what state your car is in for it to feature on Ys on Parade as this will present a challenge to any restoration project! Thanks guys and welcome. There is also a new Picture of the Month, another flashback to 2002, this time with Peter Martyn winning the prestigious Combined Motor Clubs Display Day held at the Eastern Creek International Raceway in Sydney on Sunday 18 August 2002.
And
finally, and by no means least, with many thanks to Mike Plumstead (who
does a fantastic job of hosting the MG Sites), we are proud to announce our
search engine to assist you searching the site. As the site has grown
phenomenally in the 9½ months (yes, only 9½!) it has been up, we
thought this a very necessary addition. Mike has very kindly dealt with
all the very technical code details required and we would like to place on
record our sincere thanks to him for all his help and support in all areas.
The search engine has its own button on the main menu in the contents
frame (just below Ys on Parade). The
cheeky gifs on the search engine are courtesy of Ian Hopkins, our Graphics
Designer, thank you too Ian! Archive of previous
