23 December 2007 A Diamond Jubilee Christmas present to you all, as promised the December Safety Fast newsletter article by Neil Cairns has been added to the Newsletter page. Also added today to Artist's Impressions is this year's Christmas card from Jack Murray. Also added today to the Ys on Film ... and other media page is the video clip file from Malta Story. Despite many efforts we have been unable to track down the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please contact the Webmaster as we do like to obtain permission to use stuff first normally and would like to follow up with you. Wishing all Y owners everywhere a merry Christmas, and a happy new year for 2008. Happy holidays. 15 December 2007 In response to a request for a 1 page per month calendar, as well as the comb binder version with larger pictures, a single page calendar has been created. This can be downloaded from here (2008 Calendar single page version). In creating this it was noticed that October 2008 contained an error in the dates. This too has been fixed and a revised version can be downloaded from the original links to the 2008 Calendar. As a fitting tribute to the close of the Diamond Jubilee year, the mid month Reprinted Article is from Real Classics magazine, February 1998 and recalls the UK Spring Run of 1997 celebrating the Golden Jubilee year. 10 December 2007 The 2008 Calendar is available for downloading. This year the format has been changed to two pages per month with a bigger picture! It is recommended that you print off the ODD pages first, then reload the paper to print the EVEN pages. Depending on the way your printer feed its paper, you may need to rotate the paper 180 degrees in a horizontal plain so that when you flip the front cover, the second page is correctly orientated. A comb binder or spring binder can then be inserted by a print shop for you. 5 December 2007 Thomas Peitsch has sent in a report of the Y Gathering at Lancemoor Hill from November 17. Thank you Thomas and best wishes for the 2008 gathering too. Tony Slattery has sent in a drawing of the radiator drain pipe for the Parts Drawings page. Thank you for that Tony too. 1 December 2007 The Picture of the Month this month is from Masaaki Sakaguchi in Japan. For the Reprinted Article we travel back to May 1948, and an article from the Light Car magazine. If you have not visited the site in the last couple of weeks you will have missed the announcement in the latter part of November about the two new Regalia items. The announcement is repeated below: The MG Car Club Y Register are pleased to announce that a small number of ‘Mushroom’ headed bolts with zinc plated, nylon insert nuts have been commissioned and are now available from Regalia Sales. We are also pleased that we have a supply of Seat Runner (Brass) Strips; these are better quality than the originals with much improved handling of the seat. The seat bolts/nuts are sold in ‘sets’ of four at £12.50 and the Brass Strips are sold in pairs at £9.00. Both items can be purchased separately, but if you are replacing bolts then new Brass Strips are highly recommended. We anticipate a ‘run’ on these items as nobody else manufactures them and special tooling was required for both items. The Bolts are identical to the original including the ¼ UNC threads. We have sufficient to renovate 40 seats as 20% of the run has been accounted for by pre-sales orders. If you need or are likely to need either of these items you are advised to order ASAP. A new section for Bearings has been added to the Links page, with the addition of Brammer UK. Brammer UK can offer up to 82.5% savings on Y specific bearings! Remo Peter has also sent in the third of his film noire series of paintings for the Artist's Impressions page. And finally, please welcome, Leigh Wallace with Y 4086 to Ys on Parade.
