26 April 2008 Steve Jones has updated the script he wrote for us to capture eBay items from the link we have put up on the Classified Advertisements page. The updated script now have larger pictures, show the number of bids, the time left for the auction and a shorter "friendly" link direct to the item to use in email and on forums which should not break!! Furthermore, Steve has asked if there is anything else we can think of that we can do to enhance this script for us to let him know. You can do this by emailing the webmaster here. 23 April 2008 Today, please welcome back Scott Barrow from Massachusetts, USA, as the new owner of YB 1466, to Ys on Parade. 21 April 2008 Today, please welcome Peter Chandler from New Zealand, the new owner of Y 3750, to Ys on Parade. 20 April 2008 Instrument repair specialist Lionel Otto Instruments Pty Ltd have been added to the Links page. They are based in Queensland, Australia. Remaining down under, John Ellis has sent in details of how to repair your steering wheel. These have been added to the Technical Centre on a new page.
18 April 2008 The mid-month Reprinted Article has been uploaded - sorry for any delay, and belated birthday wishes to all on our 6th birthday! The article comes from Motoring Magazine, December 1953 and is an article written by W E Blower on the Jackall System. 13 April 2008 After an absence for several years, we are pleased to announce the renewed availability of front and rear window carriers for the YA and YB. These have been retooled and subject to close scrutiny during development by project leader David Pelham, and again these are probably better now than when new! Please see the Regalia page for full details. Also, following the recent AGM, we are pleased to bring you another exciting report from Registrar Jack Murray. This can also be accessed from the menu bar on the left of this page. 12 April 2008 NTG have changed their website address and the new one has been updated to the Links page. The link to their 19th catalogue and price list has also been updated. 8 April 2008 My apologies if you have been wanting to read the March 2008 Safety Fast by our Graphic Designer, Ian Hopkins, on his YB daily driver: this link has now been corrected (both here and in the 6 April 2008 entry) to connect you to the Newsletter page. 6 April 2008 Andrew and Arlene Coulson have released details of this year's Ripon Old Car show and these have been published on the Events page. Also, in March 2008 Safety Fast there was an article by our Graphic Designer, Ian Hopkins, on his YB daily driver: this has now been added to the Newsletter page. Finally, for those in the Mid West to West coast of the US, there is Gof West. I have just received an Email from Al Moss, founder of Moss Motors and former owner of Y 1805, will be in attendance as will Y 5270 and YB 0538, so lets have a good showing of Ys there. Details of Gof West have been added to the Events page too. 4 April 2008 Tony Slattery has updated his entry for YT 3861 in Ys on Parade incorporating his recent win in the Y-Type Concours class at 2008 National MG Meeting, Tamworth, Queensland Australia - well done Tony! 2 April 2008 Well, yes it was an April Fool - there is no Y in the picture of Gene Tierney, but as one email to me said "OK, I looked for it ...well done for April 1st - mind you not a bad photo of Gene Tierney....they done make 'em like that any more sadly (nor the cars)". 1 April 2008 If you took part in our poll as to which was your favourite Y Types, thank you. The final results at the close of the poll were Y 43.59% (17 votes), YT 30.77% (12 votes), and YB 25.64% (10 votes). We will run another one sometime in the future. If you have any thoughts for what we should poll, email the webmaster here. John Ellis, from Australia, has sent in another picture of the lovely Gene Tierney with her MG Y. The Y type can just be seen, almost hidden amongst the trees on the river bank if you look very closely! Click here to view the picture. The Picture of the Month for steps back in time to1954! Continuing our time travel, we then fast forward to the Reprinted Article comes from 2006. And you thought only a De Lorean could move like that!
