14 April 2003 There were a number of Ys which we haven't yet seen on Ys on Parade on the Spring Run too, so we will be writing to them to obtain their entries now that we have their photographs - so lots more to come here! Andrew Coulson has provided our mid-month update this month as we have another new brochure for you to enjoy - this time from August 1948 - very similar, but with subtle differences to the Home Edition June 1949, so please enjoy this latest addition. Also, in celebration of our first birthday, we are pleased to unveil another new Page for you. If you scroll through the contents bar on the left you will find a new button, in between "Interesting Ys" and "Register History" called "Colour Schemes". While considerable research has gone into the production of this page it is not exhaustive, but is based upon research on many Ys, over many years, by David Lawrence and should, we hope, help anyone in a rebuild. Having checked the hit counter at 01:24 am today (14 April 2003), we can confirm that we just just pipped in 15,400 hits as at 22:48:16 on 13 April 2002 - an average of 42 visitors per day! Finally, very many happy returns to you all, from all of the team. We hope you continue to enjoY Your website.

5 April 2003 During the UK Summer, (and let's hope it is a good one for them), a bunch of intrepid Antipodeans will be shipping their cars over to the UK and Europe for a touring holiday. We have received a preliminary report of their plans and these are on the Events Page. We hope, following their safe return to have a report of their trip too. The team consists of Graham Booth, Darryl Robins (TC), Richard and Barbara Prior, and Mike and Loretta Sherrell (TC). Incidentally Darryl also owns a YA already in Y's on Parade, and Richard's YT can be seen in the YT Parade too.
3 April 2003 We have a new Hint and Tip on preventing hubcaps falling off from Bill Bennett (can also can be currently found on the BBS in answer to a recent query), and a new Technical Advice on stiff choke cables. A small addition has also been made to the Original 1947 brochure Home Edition Colour Chart, together with an explanitory note as to how this differed from the Export one. Six of you (out of a total of 76 visitors to the site in the day) were taken in by the April 1 news on the New MG Y Type, well done, if you were not convinced, do not loose any sleep if you were! The page link is still live and you can now visit it without fear to see what you missed! I hope that the additional items we have posted overcome any ill-effects you may have had! EnjoY!
2 April 2003 Meanwhile, as a bonus, a new brochure has been added to the Reprints, Brochures, page. It is from July 1950, but this time it is the Export Edition. It goes someway to answering the question originally raised by the Home Edition. Enjoy "spotting the differences" - this is not an April Fool. EnjoY!
1 April 2003 We have it on good authority that the next range of MG Saloon Cars will launch the Y series once more. The MG Car Company was always renowned for avoiding names and giving their various cars letters of the alphabet; the original range went to Z before adopting the 50s line of MGA, MGB, MGC etc. The 'badged' Rover saloons started at the other end of the alphabet ZR / ZS / ZT when they were launched a couple of years ago. The practice appears to have survived and it would seem that we could well be in for the YR, the YS and a new YT model. This will please David Pelham as he is always keen to locate new YTs! The launch date is uncertain but the ZR & ZS are based on now ageing Rover Models and we could well see something at next years Motor Show. Further credence to this has been added by the introduction of the new van range to utilise 'platform over-capacity'. An unbadged car was spotted driving through Yorkshire on the A104, by one of our committee members last week. When he telephoned Rover/MG to ask if this was the new model being tested they declined to comment. It would be great to have a new series of MG Ys - we shall just have to wait and see. A new picture of the month, with belated congratulations, has also been uploaded for you to enjoy. Archive of previous
