For several years now, we have asked Y owners if they are willing to take part in our “Get You Home Scheme” for Y owners around the United Kingdom and Ireland (and the near European continent - we currently have participants in Luxembourg and Holland), although we all know that Y types are the most reliable of the marque!

The scheme is in no way intended as a substitute for membership of any of the professional breakdown organisations but rather to provide a ‘Knight of the Road’ service to other Y type owners on their travels. Currently, the scheme has about 80 Y owners dotted around the country (and near European continent) who may be called upon for assistance if you should run into difficulties.  The level of help that participants are able to offer varies from being able to provide a vital spare part to get you going again, to just providing a shoulder to cry on.

Obviously, current participants will not need to re-register.

We emphasise that if you are happy to participate, the details circulated to other owners will be just your Christian name, telephone number and the closest town (so that your full name and address cannot be identified from a telephone directory).  Membership of the scheme is free and the list will be laminated and of a size that will fit your glove box.

If you decide you would like to be included in the scheme, your name will remain on the list until you notify me that you have sold your car or that you wish your name to be removed.  It would also be appreciated if you could inform me of any change of address or telephone number.

Please note the closing date for inclusion on the list will be 7 January  of the year of issue of the listing (i.e. closing date for the 2007 list will be 7 January 2007).

To join the scheme, all you need do is email me with your full postal address so that I can send you the completed list, and your telephone number. (Your full address will not appear on the list – just the nearest large town and your phone number). The list will be sent out at the beginning of each year to participating owners only.
