History:
This MG Maestro 2.0EFi was a car campaigned by Doug Dawe in the
Maestro Challenge Series from 1987 to 1990. John Dalton bought it
in 1990 and campaigned it, in the Group N 2-litre class, for 4
years, in International asphalt rallies in Ireland, the Isle of
Man, Belgium and France. These were nearly all European
Championship rounds except for the World Rally Championship event
in Corsica, where John and Michael Roe competed on the world's most
testing and tortuous tarmac event against the likes of Carlos Sainz
and Colin McRae, giving the Maestro its best ever placing on a
World Championship round: 36th overall.
